We spent Sunday morning contemplating when we were going to head home and cleaning in case we decided to leave that afternoon. It looked like traffic from all the evacuees was getting bad via google maps so we decided to stick around and leave early Monday morning. We picked up sandwiches from the Ham Shoppe and hit the pumpkin patch. It was so fun and Charlie Banks loved running the fields. From there we headed back to Sugar to check out the Oktoberfest at the ski lodge. Our stay there was short lived, but fun to check out nonetheless. Next, we hit Banner Elk Winery for a glass of vino. We had mexican for an early dinner then headed home. A busy and fun time for our last day in the mountains! I am so happy we made it up there for a fall getaway, and even more happy we came home to a safe home. We had a bunch of yard debris, but other than that we dodged a bullet! We are very thankful for that.
