Folly Fun

I needed to go to Folly this morning to pick up a table for the new nursery, so I decided we would make a morning of it. We had breakfast at one of our favorites, Lost Dog, then hit the beach for a little bit. We had fun enjoying the beautiful weather!

Picking Strawberries

We met my sister, Harper and Hadleigh at Boone Hall to pick strawberries this morning. It was fun, but Charlie Banks was hot and didn't like the weeds and sand on his feet. Ha!  My sister shared a strawberry popsicle recipe that we are going to make with our crop.

15 Month (+3 weeks) Checkup & Other Fun

Charlie Banks had his 15 month checkup this morning 3 weeks late. He weighed in at 22lbs 9oz - a little above the 25th percentile. He is 31.25 inches putting him in the 50th percentile for height. His head is in the 25th percentile at 46 cm. He is a healthy boy with an off the chart vocabulary (haha) according to his doctor. He says: hi/hey, mama, dada, up, down, ball, dog, woof, vroom, baby, eye...and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. He listens pretty well and loves to help follow simple commands, such as "help mommy close this drawer/door/etc".  He loves playing outside and still doesn't like it one bit if he doesn't know where his mommy is!  He loves kissing all of his stuffed animals and his baby (my old baby doll). He isn't as generous with his kisses to us, but when we are lucky he will give them!

We have been staying busy this week!  We have logged lots of time outside and on the golf cart, visited the children's museum, and also tried a new music class called "Songs for Seeds" with Harper (and Hadleigh).

Lately

Jimmy left Tuesday and I have nothing too exciting to report. We have been staying busy going to story time at the library, doctors appointment, trying a few new recipes, cleaning, etc.

We are almost 18 weeks and all is well. I'm finally starting to feel better and get some energy back, which is nice...especially with Jimmy gone.  I feel like a new woman actually being productive and getting things done around the house.

I went through our newborn clothes yesterday and a lot of them had some protein stains that had surfaced while being stored. An overnight soak in oxiclean and we are good to go. Here's to hoping baby two isn't as spitty as Charlie Banks.

Charlie Banks has hidden one of his natives shoes and it is driving me crazy. I have been holding off buying the same shoes in the same size and color for almost a week hoping that it will show up. I've searched everywhere and no luck. I went to order a new pair on Nordstrom last night and the site was messing up and wouldn't let me place the order.  So...I took it as a sign that maybe I will find it today. Ha!

We tried a new muffin recipe from Pinterest this morning. Avocado and blueberry muffins. They were okay...don't think I'll make again.

I have been reading "I Want My Epidural Back" by Karen Alpert. I follow her blog on Facebook- "Baby Sideburns" and she is so funny. It's very mindless reading, but it is funny!

And...that's how exciting our life has been!  :)

Tallahassee

We weren't even in Tallahassee for 24 hours, but enjoyed our quick visit. We checked into our hotel then went to Wells Brothers for burgers. It's a popular local spot and it didn't disappoint. There was a nice area for Charlie Banks to burn some energy after being in the car all day. The next morning we dropped Jimmy off then went to Maple Street Biscuit Company for breakfast. Holy yum!  My biscuit had fried chicken, bacon, cheese and sausage gravy.  We found a park to run around in before another car-filled afternoon. Much to our surprise they had a splash pad that we were not prepared for, but CB loved it.  I was surprised there weren't any other kids there on such a pretty day!  We grabbed a pizza at the FSU fav, Momo's, for lunch.  Picked up Jimmy and now we are in route home. Fun, quick trip!
