Life Lately…

Some randomness to catch up on the happenings in our life…

• I am laughing thinking about this now…but at the time it was far from funny!  We had a chimney fire and had to call 911!  We were settling in for a relaxing evening by the fire…Charlie Banks was asleep in the wrap on me…Jimmy was getting the fire going.  And he really got it going!  Ha!  We were talking about how big it was and I looked out the windows and was laughing that there were even sparks coming from the top of the chimney…clueless!  Jimmy ran outside and came back in…in a panic!!!  He said the flames were shooting about 15 feet out the top of the chimney!  I called 911 and Jimmy was carting pans of water back and forth to put the fire in the fireplace out.  It was traumatic, but luckily short lived.  We were thankful it wasn’t a windy night!  Moral of the story…get your chimneys cleaned!
• Jimmy has come and gone again!   The entire time he was home he was studying for a test he has to take for work.  We are happy he will only be gone for two weeks this time…and almost a week has already passed!
• I am missing my BFF, Brooke’s, bachelorette party this weekend!  I know they are having so much fun…as evidenced from the videos, pics, and snapchats I have been receiving. 
• We did get to celebrate Brooke and Bryson at a shower in Orangeburg two weekends ago!  It was Charlie Banks’ first “road trip” and his first oyster roast.  He was an angel.

• We are really struggling in the nap department and haven’t been able to really nail down a schedule yet.  He is on a great schedule at night…still usually waking up twice which isn’t bad for me at all.
• I am within 5ish pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight!  Yippee.  It has come off pretty easily…but I have been making a more conscious effort to eat healthy.  I made a veggie soup this week that was SO good.  I had never had veggie soup before and didn’t think I would like it at all, but I am planning to make it again tomorrow!
• Speaking of cooking, my crockpot is literally my bff.  It is the only way I have been able to cook post baby.  I can chop things up whenever I have a free second and even put everything in the crock pot the night before when he goes down…that way the next morning all I have to do it put it on and dinner is ready! 
• So many of our friends are pregnant right now and I couldn’t be more excited!  Charlie Banks’ is going to have so many friends soon!  4 of our really close friends are expecting this summer/early fall!
• I am 3 weeks into invisalign!  I lost my retainers many moons ago and my teeth had really started to shift.  When my permanent retainer popped off at the end of the year I knew it was time to do something.  It isn’t bad so far and I think this has been the perfect time to do it since with a newborn we really aren’t going too much.  I have 12 weeks left!
• I wrecked our new car. Jimmy had someone come clean our house as my Valentines Day present.  She parked her car right in front of our garage.  I went to run errands and backed straight into her car.  It happened so fast the sensors that tell me when I am close to something hardly had time to make a peep!  I am afraid to find out the damage this week!
• We are taking Charlie Banks’ on his first trip in a few weeks!  Jimmy has a class in Houston for a day so we are going to go with him and make a trip of it.  We will visit with his family in Houston then road trip to Fredericksburg and Austin.  I am excited and nervous to see how he does on the plane/trip!

Well that is all the randomness I can think of at the moment.  I will be back soon with a 2 month update on our little guy!
