6 Months

Our sweet boy is 6 (closer to 7 now!) months!  He is a WILD man!  He has 3 teeth now and another is about to pop through.  He takes 2-3 naps per day and is sleeping SO MUCH BETTER at night…with a little nudge from our pediatrician to let him cry a little more at night and it only took one night.  Ever since the first night of letting him cry he only wakes up once around 4 or 5 to eat and then back down until about 6:30.  I was about to lose my mind waking up with him 3-4 times a night.  Hallelujah!  He loves bath time, “standing”, golf cart rides, baby einstein, sophie and putting anything he can in his mouth!  He is still a really spitty baby so I am hoping that will subside sometime soon.  He has been getting up on all 4’s for a few weeks now so we are expecting him to take off any time now!  So we are in the process of mounting our bedroom tv which was originally on a table and taking measurements for baby gates, etc.  His favorite food is pears!  He knows what he wants…just like his mama.  He is so fun and is one cute handful!

FOOD!

We recently started solid foods with Charlie Banks.  He is really starting to do great with them!  He has tried bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, avocado and whole milk yogurt.  I am “making” his food…not that the foods he has tried require much effort in that department.  I am freezing the food (only the carrots and sweet potatoes) in ice cube trays which make it much easier to take out the small portions that he eats every “meal”…usually only 1-2 cubes at this point.  He is eating some yogurt in the morning and a veggie at dinner.  These pictures were from his first meal…which was actually rice cereal!

31!

We had fun celebrating Jimmy’s 31st birthday!  We were so happy he was home with us to enjoy his day!  He flew in just in time to celebrate.  We had a fun time at his favorite…Home Team!  We came home to have ice cream cake from Beardcats afterwards.  I was so excited about the cake and it was a major let down!  That weekend I hired a private chef from Five Loaves CafĂ© to come cook dinner for us and a few other couples.  I thought this was the perfect solution since we really can’t go out to a nice dinner yet with Charlie Banks.  It was SO fun and I think he enjoyed his “present”.  Of course I only remembered to take a picture of the first course! ha!  The menu was this heirloom tomato, goat cheese and basil salad.  She crab soup! A pork tenderloin over a bacon, corn and pepper hash.  Proscuitto wrapped tile fish over grits.  A berry cream dessert.  It was delicious and we would definitely love to do it again!  The chef was so great to work with and let me pick out the menu.  I am proud to say I even tried the she crab soup and the tile fish…I have come along way!  Happy Birthday to the best hubby and daddy around!

Yard Work!

We spent a good chunk of time while Jimmy was home working on our yard.  The yard was neglected during construction and needed some serious help!  We created this bed and the people at Abide A While (my new fav place!!) helped us lay out what/where to plant.  Jimmy did most of the work, but I helped during CB’s naps and after he was down for the night.  I think I can actually say I enjoyed it!  Now to see if we can keep it all alive.  I’m on water duty while Jimmy is gone…yikes!  AND, while watering them several nights ago a coyote ran through the yard!!!!

Five Months

We love our little buddy so much!  I was late with the pictures this month, but he is growing like a weed.  His smiles just melt my heart!!  His first tooth may be the cutest thing ever…although momma isn’t quite ready to admit he is old enough to have a tooth!!!  He loves his feet, his jumparoo, golf cart rides, bath time and partying in the middle of the night!
