Weekend

We had a fun and pretty busy weekend. We went to visit one of Jimmys good friends to check out his new house he is building in McClellanville and visited the downtown. We had lunch at T.W. Graham's and we will definitely be back to eat and visit the few cute shops.

We went to Jimmys aunt and uncles oyster roast in West Ashley. It was fun to see them!

We tried a new restaurant and it was delicious!  It's called Congress and we were skeptical to try it, but Jimmys dad read a good review so they asked us to go with them. So glad they did!  We had gnocchi, chili relleno, and house made mozzarella and pesto for appetizers. Jimmy had a soft shell crab salad and I had a pasta with bolognese sauce. So, so good...everything!

Sunday Charlie Banks tried his first Krispy Kreme donut for breakfast. Then we went to church sporting a new shiner and went to our favorite brunch spot - Red Drum.  A perfect spring weekend!

The Alley

We had a fun time with friends at The Alley downtown last Wednesday. We met for drinks (for everyone else), apps, and bowling. It was a good place for Charlie Banks to run around. We ended up having to leave before we even started bowling, because it was nearing bedtime and he was letting us know. He fell asleep on the way home...sweet boy!

Mermaids

We went to the aquarium this morning to see the mermaids that are in town.  It was fun to see what all the hype was about. Charlie Banks wasn't too impressed, but I'm still happy we went.  We went to our go-to breakfast downtown afterwards - Callie's Hot Little Biscuit. We love going there on random weekdays when it's not terribly crowded. But, it was so crowded today with people in town for spring break I guess. Still delicious and a fun morning downtown.

Gobble, Gobble

Jimmy has been enjoying turkey season and killed his 3rd bird yesterday. That should be enough to hold him over until next year. We had a few people over for turkey nuggets the other night. I'm quite picky and I must say they are pretty good!

Happy Easter!

We rushed to get ready for church and realized once we got there the service times were different on Easter Sunday. Whoops!  We headed to Folly Beach for a yummy lunch with my family afterwards.

We made more Easter cookies!

The Easter Bunny brought Charlie Banks a fun tent, bubble machine, rain boots, book bag and books!

We hope everyone had a great Easter spent with those they love!

Dentist

Charlie Banks had his first dentist appointment this morning!  As you can see, he wasn't a fan!  Ha!  It didn't cross my mind to take him yet, but I read the recommendations last week that they should go 6 months after their first tooth...and it's been almost a year. The pediatric dentist we chose offers a free first visit to get them used to it so that was nice. We will be back in 6 months...hopefully he won't be so ticked off on round 2. He was rewarded with toddler time as sky zone. These pictures are backwards, but I'm on my phone and it would take all afternoon to fix.

First Egg Hunt

We have been practicing hunting eggs at home, but it didn't translate to much success for Charlie Banks' first real hunt. Ha!  We did have fun at our neighborhood hunt though. We made Easter cookies to take and we also enjoyed deviled eggs all weekend. I made Paula Deen's loaded deviled eggs if you're looking for a good recipe. Yum!  We are looking forward to celebrating Easter this weekend.
