Haines’ First Day Ever on his Birthday!

Haines’ was able to start school once he turned 2 a week after everyone else.  We were so thankful our school allowed him to start this year even though he barely missed the cut off by 10 days!  I really couldn’t imagine having to wait another year, because this boy was READY!  The Friday before he started, he pitched an epic fit when we dropped Charlie Banks off and he didn’t get to stay! I was still a little worried, because he does still cry when I take him to childcare at the gym.  But, on his SECOND birthday this big boy only cried because they wouldn’t open the gate fast enough to let him in!  He walked right in with his book bag and never looked back for me once.  Everyday since has been the same way.  He took birthday cookies to his new friends and we had a big afternoon celebrating. We swam, ordered pizza, ate cupcakes and had fun playing with his new toys. It is so hard to believe that our baby is two whole years old. He is a great eater, can jump in the pool and swim all the way to the steps by himself!, loves his big brother, wants to snack all day long, wakes up earlier than mommy would like, is tough as nails, very opinionated, loves to read and gives us a run for our money everyday!  We love him so very much!  Also, please note I am not as ignorant as his back to school sign would indicate. Ha!  I know how to spell September and have no idea how I didn’t notice until a week later that I misspelled it...mom brain is real!

Dentist

It is really crazy to me that we have been in Tampa for a year already!  This year flew by and getting settled here consumed so much of my energy that I’m just getting around to finding a dentist for the boys, doctor for me, etc!  It was Haines’ first dental visit and I was pretty certain he was going to cause a scene. We went to the pediatrician several weeks ago and he refused to open his mouth for her and brushing his teeth sometimes requires me pinning him down using both of my legs and extra arm. Ha!  It has definitely gotten a tad better lately thank goodness. Needless to say, I was downright shocked by his great behavior!  No tears and was a great little patient. Charlie Banks did great as well and we really liked their dentist!  In true Tampa fashion, the office is pirate themed with a fun pirate ship to play in so they had a fun visit!

Charlie Banks’ First Day!

Charlie Banks headed back to school last week!  It’s his 3rd year and the first time we have had no tears!  While it’s his 3rd school year, it is his first time returning to the same school. It’s been really nice since he knows the drill and is happy there.  A few moms from his class came over for mimosas and coffee after dropoff which was fun!  I think it’s going to be a great year in the 3’s class!
