Zoo Day

I have been wanting to take the boys to the zoo for awhile, but our 5 day a week swim lessons have really been putting a damper on big outings. I'm a real nap nazi, so skipping afternoon naps is just not going to happen very often. I was nervous about going on a weekend day, but we got there right when they opened and it was great!  We went for donuts before at a local place called Dough. I had the pumpkin creme brûlée...so good, but a little too much!

The boys loved seeing all of the animals and riding a few rides.  It was a great zoo and we will certainly be back a lot!

Isla Mujeres Take 5

I think this made my 5th trip to Isla Mujeres. I think it's safe to say it's one of our favorite spots. It was my families pick for our yearly adults trip. We did what any good vacation consists of...massages on our dock, paddle boarded, ate and drank way too much!  Too many Soggy Peso margaritas!  Our house, Villa Vista de La Luz, was pretty incredible!  It had a gorgeous view, wonderful pool and they cooked the most delicious breakfast for us each morning. I missed Jimmy and the boys so, so much - but I knew they were in good hands with their Leazy. She was so sweet to come to Tampa to watch them while Jimmy was busy working away. They are no small task so I am so thankful she was willing!  Another big thanks to Jimmy for sending me on vaca while he's slaving away at his new job. Another great trip and I'll be counting down until I'm back with my family again!

Lately

Nothing too exciting to report other than my fun trip to Isla Mujeres that I will share in a separate post. We have been so busy I feel like, but not too much to show for it!  My hard work trying to get Charlie Banks into a new school closer to us paid off!  He just finished his second day at a church around the corner and he has done great!  A little teary at drop-off, but otherwise happy and seems to be really enjoying it.  I feel like now that our school situation is not in limbo we can really get settled and into a good routine. We are still busy with swim lessons daily, a mom and me weekly class with Haines, and otherwise trying to attend a few play groups and library storytimes. Jimmy and I were invited by one of his co-workers to "Yachtoberfest" at the Tampa Yacht Club and we had a great time.   It has been the only time off Jimmy has taken and he felt a little guilty, but we met some fun people and enjoyed ourselves.  Both boys have doctors appointments at our new pediatrician this week, so fingers crossed we feel like that's a good fit.  I feel like we are just swimming (more like treading - ha!) along and I am ready for the busyness of moving i.e. School apps, dmv visits, getting new insurance, new doctors, new everything, blah, blah, blah to settle down.

Fall Fun

We had a fun weekend filled with 3 trips to Hyde Park Village. Friday was the Fall Festival and was so fun!  It was the opening of the month long pumpkin patch, food trucks, live music, jump castles, etc. Saturday morning we got to hang out with Jimmy, because there weren't any good ships for him to ride. We walked back to Hyde Park Village to have breakfast at Goody Goody, a little shopping, and a stop at the park!  This morning, the boys and I walked back again for the Hyde Park Village Fresh Market with a fun family that lives in our apartments. The fresh market is the first Sunday of every month and had lots of vendors selling all things local, yummy food trucks, jump houses, etc. Another fun event that we will definitely frequent!  The Village is half a mile from our apartments and is such a nice little area with lots of good shopping and restaurants. (Anthropologie, lululemon, Pottery Barn, Kendra Scott, etc!). We love being able to walk there!
