Busy Day!!

Yesterday was a good day!

Charlie Banks and I spent most of the morning working on getting his schedule down and it really felt like it was “clicking” yesterday which made me really happy.  I also captured some his first giggles on video.  He had his best night of sleep in weeks last night.  All is going well so far this morning on that front, too.  He is down for his second nap as I type.  So, so proud of him!!

In the afternoon, we went to Jordan and Nathan’s gender reveal party!  It was so fun!  IT’S ANOTHER BOY!  It is going to be so fun to see these boys grow up and play together.

I then headed to my sister and Jeff’s and hung out with them for a little bit.  They watched Charlie Banks for us while I went to our friends, Chilton and Courtney’s, wedding.  It was so pretty and was fun to visit with other friends for a short little bit.  Gorgeous bride and a fun time!  Jimmy was really sad to miss the wedding as Chilton is one of his best friends…and I was sad to be missing my sidekick!  Charlie Banks was asleep when I got back to my sisters which made me so happy.  I was worried he was going to be miserable and didn’t want to leave them with a sad baby while they have their hands full with two babies of their own.

It was a fun filled Saturday getting to spend time with so many of my favorite people.

Charlie Banks’ First Easter

On Good Friday we had a fun little family day taking Charlie Banks to the mall to meet the Easter Bunny and we had breakfast downtown at somewhere I have been dying to try…Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit.  It did not disappoint!  We will definitely be back for another fried chicken biscuit.  The special that we got had fried chicken, fried egg, bacon, cheese, and maple syrup.  It was soooo good!!

We had a fun Easter day spent with family!  The pictures are a little out of order, but we started the morning by meeting Jimmy’s parents at the yacht club for a cocktail reception.  Charlie Banks’ met the Easter Bunny for the second time there!  We then headed to Folly with my family and had a delicious lunch.  We finished the day with a family nap and relaxing as Jimmy had to head back to work the next day.  Hopefully next year the day will be started at church!

Harper is ONE!

We had so much fun celebrating Harper’s First Birthday!  It was Charlie Banks’ first birthday party, too!  The theme was too cute.  “You DONUT want to miss this party!  Harper is turning ONE!”  My sister had yummy breakfast food and it was a special celebration for a special little girl!  She is so dainty and sweet with the most kissable cheeks!  Happy Birthday Harper!

Our Little Fish

We started swim lessons a few weeks ago and it is the cutest thing.  We will probably do this session and then practice on our own over the summer and then start again when the weather gets cool.  They start the lessons at 3 months and Charlie Banks was right on the cut off.  We are doing them with Harper and Hudson!  I was pretty scared to dunk him under water the first time, but less than three months ago he was living in “water”.  So fun!

TEJAS!

Jimmy had a class in Houston for work so we decided to make a trip of it!  We wanted to visit with Jimmy’s Texas family and for them to meet Charlie Banks.  They were sweet enough to take me to MD Anderson so I could have a quick visit with Stephen and Karen.  Stephen is being treated there and I was happy that they could meet Charlie Banks as well.  Unfortunately, Charlie Banks wasn’t on his best behavior at the hospital so I don’t have any pictures!

After a night in Houston, we loaded up and drove to Jimmy’s Aunt Nancy’s ranch in Fredericksburg.  It is so beautiful and we had such a great time.  Our friends Chatham and Caroline drove and met us there and it was nice to spend some time with them.  We visited a few wineries, shopped in town, had some famous Cooper’s BBQ, and relaxed around the ranch.

We had a delicious dinner at the HIll Top Café one night!

And it’s just not spring in Texas without bluebonnet pictures!

After three quick nights in Fredericksburg, we headed to Austin for a night.  We had fun walking around!  We enjoyed some Amy’s Ice Cream and mexican at Matt’s El Rancho.

We enjoyed breakfast at Magnolia Café before hitting the road back to Houston.  We stopped in Lockhart which is supposedly the bbq capital of TX on the way back to Houston and had some delicious Texas bbq at Black’s.  It was so much better than Cooper’s in my opinion.  We had a fun and delicious dinner at Tony Mandola’s with all of Jimmy’s family that night.  Lots of food…I guess that’s what a good vacation is all about.

And there you have it…Charlie Banks’ first vaca!  I was worried about plane travel, but my experience is that plane travel with a baby is SO MUCH EASIER than car travel!

We had a great time and can’t wait to go back!
