Wedding Weekends

Whew!  Wedding weekends are always so anticipated and are over so quickly!  One of my best friends, Mercedes, got married this weekend!  It was so fabulous and the weekend was perfection!  We started Friday by hosting a drop-in pool party on Sullivan’s Island for friends and family to kick off the weekend.

From there it was pedicures, blow-outs, and rehearsal time.  The rehearsal dinner was at the Maritime Center downtown Charleston.

I spent the night with Mercedes that night and she was such a calm bride!  Saturday, as always was busy with hair, make-up, pictures, wedding rain delay, etc.  But, it turned out perfectly.  The rain cleared just in time and she walked down the aisle as a double rainbow appeared.  We think it was her late mother’s way of shining down on her special day!  She was a GORGEOUS bride and the entire wedding was truly magazine worthy.  If you look close enough you can see a small baby bump!

Texas Visits

This past weekend two of my nieces, Emily and Caroline, came to visit from DFW!  We had such a fun time eating, shopping, playing with Harper and Hudson, and going to the beach.

We went to the new ice cream place on King Steet, Jeni’s, and it was delish.  I have been wanting to try it and it didn’t disappoint.  After lots of sampling, I settled on the lemon and blueberry flavor.  It was so refreshing and was filled with fresh blueberries.  Saturday night, we tried Boxcar Betty’s, a new restaurant on 17 in West Ashley.  They specialize in fried chicken sandwiches.  I tried the chicken and waffle sandwich and while it was messy it was very tasty.  It had a bacon jam with pimento cheese.  We would definitely go back.

Jimmy’s family from Houston was also in town this weekend and stayed until Tuesday.  Monday night we went to eat at Starz on King Street.  I have been to the rooftop for drinks several times, but can’t believe it was my first time having dinner!  We had the bacon tator tots, mussels (well they did), and salads for apps.  I ordered the filet with truffle grits as my entrée and I was very impressed.  Anything with truffle is good in my book.  For dessert, we pretty much had everything and shared…butterscotch crème brulee, coconut cake, some type of key lime something, and a smores pie.  Butterscotch crème brulee was the winner in my book.

Needless to say, there’s probably a reason other than our growing baby why my clothes are getting a little tighter!

Bun in the Oven!

Well, I am really going to try to start updating on a regular basis…and for good reason!  We have a lot going on that I want to document these days.

We are going to have a BABY!  Baby Moore is due December 29th and we couldn’t be more excited!!!  We had our second appointment today and everything is looking great!

How Far Along:  13 weeks 1 day

Size of Baby:  According to my Junk Food Baby Size Chart Baby Moore is the size of a half-eaten corn dog.  HA!

Maternity Clothes:  Not yet, but I definitely need to get one of the belly bands asap.  Most things are starting to get snug and some things have already been retired.

Gender:  TBD.  We have a 3D ultrasound scheduled for July 11th to find out!

Movement:  None yet.  It was SO fun to see the cutie moving around on the ultrasound today though.  Such a change from the one at 9 weeks where baby looked like a little peanut.

Sleep:  Waking up once most nights and having some trouble getting back to sleep...although this was somewhat of a problem pre pregnancy.  BOO!

Symptoms:  Over the first 13 weeks I have had lots.  Some nausea, but luckily have not physically been ill.  Acne…gross.  Have never had a big problem with my skin, but this is on my chest, back, and face.  My lower back is starting to hurt when I go on my walks in the afternoons…and this is worrisome that it would already be bothering me a little.  Peeing pretty frequently.  No other major symptoms that I can think of.

What I miss:  Nothing really…except my husband!  He has been gone for the past two months except for a short week in the middle.

Cravings:  More food aversions than cravings and that has been the case since day one.  Can’t even think about pot roast without my mouth watering…and not in a good way.

Best Moment this Week:  Seeing our sweet babe on the ultrasound today moving all around and hearing the heartbeat of 148.

What I am looking forward to:  Jimmy coming home in less than a week!  My bestie, Mercedes’, wedding this weekend!

I have a lot to catch up on…engagements, weddings, babies, our move and major house renovations, etc.  So much excitement in the Moore world. Smile
