38 Week Randoms

We are 38 weeks and 1 day!  At my doctor’s appointment this morning she said that I am 1 centimeter and 90% thinned and she stripped my membranes!  So now we are just waiting on Charlie Banks to make his debut!  After I post this I am headed to the airport to pick Jimmy up…WOOHOO!  That’s a big relief to have him home.  Below are some randoms that I have been up to the past few weeks while passing the time waiting on our baby boy…

I have been baking (and eating) a lot of Christmas cookies!  The first two batches were for a cookie exchange I went to at my friend Jordan’s moms house!  I came home with way too many other delicious cookies!

My mom came to town again!  We kept Harper while my sister and Jeff and most of the rest of my family was vacationing in St. Martin.  Jimmy and I were sad to miss the trip!  But my mom and I had a lot of fun with Harper and my mom was such a HUGE help around our house helping me get more settled.  She brought our finished curtains and bedding for the master bedroom and living room pillows.  Once again she has really outdone herself!  I am in love with everything she has made for us and I am sure she will be happy when I don’t have any more house projects for her.  We picked out fabric for the kitchen window seat, window seat pillows, kitchen valence, and master bath valence before she left town so those are next on the list.  The end is near!  She also helped me hang pictures…which was such a huge help and something I had been dreading so I am happy to have a few things on the wall at least.  I know Jimmy is happy he didn’t have to help with that as well…ha!

We made these appliqued outfits for Charlie Banks while my mom was here!  I am using the term we very lightly, as I was just a spectator, but it was fun!  Now we will see if he gets to wear them or if he will join us after Christmas…

This cutie pie kept us very busy, too!  She still refuses to take a bottle and she was teething!  She LOVES to be held and is very particular in that she does not want you to sit down while you are holding her!  HA!  She was happy to see her momma I know, but we were sad to see her go and my house has been too quiet since her and my mom left.

We are still waiting on the butcher block countertop, but the electricians did install the pendants over the island last night!  Slowly, but surely.

Last, but not least, a 38 week bump pic!

36 Weeks!

Iphone Pics 11_30_14 1548

I have been terrible about updating weekly, but the weeks are going by so quickly its hard to keep up.

How Far Along:  36 weeks tomorrow!  Our due date was one month from yesterday…although I don’t think we will make it that far.

Size of Baby:  At last weeks appointment my doctor did an ultrasound to check on his growth, because she was concerned that I was measuring on the small side of normal.  To her surprise, he is actually measuring ahead!  He was already estimated to weigh 6 lbs 2 ounces at the 35 week appointment.  She said she is not sure where he is in there, but we were relieved that he was growing big!  I really don’t see how I am measuring on the small side of normal over here either…feeling pretty large!  HA!

Maternity Clothes:  Definitely.  Living in leggings.

Gender:  Still a boy!

Movement:  He is moving a lot and it is sometimes painful!

Sleep:  Hit or miss…I have had a good couple of nights in a row.

Symptoms:  Back pain, pelvic pain, nose bleeds, insomnia some nights, serious nesting…been washing everything in sight!

What I miss:  Jimmy!

Cravings:  Still craving sweets way more than I ever did pre-pregnancy.  Going to indulge as much as possible these last few weeks.  Did I really just say last few WEEKS?!?

Best Moment this week:  Hearing that Charlie Banks is a big boy after her concern over his growth.  Getting his car seat installed thanks to help from my friend Stephanie.  Started packing our hospital bags!  A much needed massage thanks to Jimmy.  Had a really nice Thanksgiving with family on Folly.  Decorating our new house for Christmas!  A Clemson victory over the Gamecocks!

What I am looking forward to:  Jimmy getting home on the 16th.  Charlie Banks’ arrival!  Bring on December…it is scary/exciting/crazy to say that come tomorrow we will have a baby THIS MONTH!

Charlie Banks’ Nursery

First, his name!  Charles Eubank Moore.  Both are family names…Charles from my side (My dad, grand, and great grandfathers) and Eubank from Jimmy’s side.  His cousin Banks’ (Eubank) passed away the year before Jimmy and I met.  Both are very special and we are honored to name our first born after all of these people.  We will call him Charlie Banks and see how it evolves as he gets older…maybe drop the Charlie.  I thought his nursery deserved a post of its own.  My mom made all of the window treatments, pillows, crib skirt, duvet covers, etc.  She is so, so talented and I have really been putting her to work with the nursery and new house!  I love how it all turned out.  I found the main hunting/fishing toile online and we went from there.

Can’t wait to fill these frames with pictures of our sweet boy!

The “changing table” was Jimmy’s grandmothers and the rocking horse was Jimmy’s.

These antique twin beds were Jimmys sister, Kingslea’s.  They are beautiful and she is so sweet to let us use them in the nursery.  The paintings on the wall were done by Jimmy’s grandfather and are of his sailboat.

These letters were a gift from one of my best friends Mercedes.  Jimmy was in West Africa when we found out we were expecting and he bought the elephant and marlin to bring home for the nursery. The Peter Rabbit plate was a gift from Jimmy’s Aunt Nancy…it was Banks’ when he was little.

Thanks to his older cousin, Hudson, we have a lot of clothes!

Lil Punkin Baby Shower

My friends threw the most precious baby shower for us this past weekend.  It was so, so cute and they really outdid themselves!

The theme was just too cute!

We felt so loved and it was so sweet of them to do this for us!  How pretty is my bestie, Mercedes’, house?

WE ARE MOVED IN!

We have been moved into the new house for almost three weeks…WOOHOO!  We were SO BUSY while Jimmy was home trying to get as settled as possible.  He won’t be home again until December 16th…which is about two weeks before our due date.  It still feels a little surreal that we are actually moved in…I feel like all we have been doing is talking about it for so long that I never thought the day would actually come.  Other than a few things the painters have to finish/touch up, a few things left on the electricians list, our butcher block counter top for the island, and our closets/pantry that can’t be installed until the beginning of December we are pretty much finished!  I am feeling pretty settled other than the closets/pantry, lack of pictures hung, and decorative/furniture things we need.  It feels like a dream house…now we just need our baby to make it complete!

New Entry…

Master Bath.  I was nervous about how the colors I went with were going to work out, but we love it!  Showering is a dream…afraid to see the first water bill though!

New laundry room/office…was the screened in porch off of master before.  I really love this space!  My mom was in town this past weekend and sewed these window treatments.  I love them!

Wet Bar in Kitchen.  One of our favorite decisions – an ice maker that makes sonic ice!  I’m chewing it as I type.

Obviously awaiting the butcher block counter top for island…biggest mistake of the whole project…we ordered the wrong size!  Yikes.IMG_1920IMG_1921IMG_1922IMG_1923

The dining room table was Jimmy’s great grandmothers.  We are so lucky to have it.  Jimmy’s parents had some old wingback chairs that I am having recovered for the ends of the table and the current chairs need to be steamed! Smile

These chairs were my grandparents that I had recovered and the table was Jimmy’s grandparents.  My mom made all of the pillows.  I love these special touches.

It is a work in progress, but we have come SO FAR!  It has been nice having a space to entertain again.  We have already hosted supper club and I’ve had friends over on several other occasions over the past couple of weeks.  This was the main event that I was waiting on in order to really feel ready for the baby…now I’m just holding out for Jimmy to get home on December 16th and he can join us whenever he pleases! Smile
